About the event
This course introduces wetland delineators to the soil profile characterization methods used in conducting jurisdictional wetland determinations in accordance with Regional Supplements to the 1987 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual. Participants will learn how to distinguish hydric from non-hydric soils and how to identify and describe organic and mineral soils. They will be introduced to field indicators of hydric soils, including updated guidance and indicators recently published in the US Army Corps of Engineers Regional Supplements. Half of the day will be spent in the field describing both hydric and non-hydric soil profiles. The student will receive a Certificate of Training showing 9 professional development hours upon successful completion of this course. Successful completion is determined by attendance and participation in all lecture, field, and laboratory sessions.
